Your transcontinental crossing begins mid-afternoon at Sydney's Central Station, where you will board the Indian Pacific. As the urban skyline fades, the train begins its winding climb through the sandstone cliffs and deep valleys of the Blue Mountains. Settle into your cabin or head to the lounge to socialize with fellow travelers over an afternoon drink. In the evening, take your seat in the dining car for a regionally inspired dinner paired with fine Australian wines.

Wake up in the outback as the train arrives in the fabled silver mining city of Broken Hill. You can step off for an Off-Train Experience exploring the town's mining legacy and artistic history, or join a lively and creative morning town tour hosted by a local drag queen. Reboard for breakfast and lunch as the train sweeps past the southern tip of the Flinders Ranges. By late afternoon, you'll arrive in the foodie capital of Adelaide, where you can choose from a selection of curated city or world-class vineyard experiences.

Today is dedicated to the vast, unforgettable expanse of the Nullarbor Plain, traveling along the world's longest stretch of straight railway track. The train makes a daytime pause at Cook, a once-bustling railway outpost that is now a near-ghost town rich with history. By evening, you will arrive at the remote siding of Rawlinna on the fringe of Australia's largest sheep station. Here, you will step off for a signature long-table dinner under a canopy of outback stars (seasonal, September to May) or gather around a roaring bonfire for drinks and canapés during the cooler months.

Enjoy the final stage of your journey as you wake to the rolling green hills and delightful undulations of Western Australia's Avon Valley. Savor a leisurely brunch on board as the landscapes transition into the western coast. The Indian Pacific makes its final approach into the terminal at East Perth mid-morning, bringing your epic transcontinental rail adventure to a conclusion.
